2009 Wedgwood Outdoor Cinema Report

The Wedgwood Community Council (WCC) presented its 7th annual Outdoor Cinema on Saturday, July 11th. The family-friendly event was hosted by Principal John Miner of Thornton Creek School, located at their playfield on 77th and 43rd Ave.

The WCC, which represents approximately 3,000 homes, sponsors numerous events that bring the community together; the Outdoor Cinema is their most popular event and one which Wedgwoodians anticipate each summer. Close to 600 attendees enjoyed this year's Outdoor Cinema which kicked off at 7:30 p.m. Attendees enjoyed hot dogs, ice cream, water and magazines courtesy of generous partner Metropolitan Market. Café Van Gogh's italian sodas and Starbucks' flavored iced teas quenched our thirst and baked treats from Hudson Public House and goodies from NEST were a big treat too. Man's best friends were not forgotten as Northeast Veterinary Hospital shared doggie treats!
